European card games may have been influenced by the East, particularly the Mamluk deck, a card game from the Egyptian Empire in the 13th and 14th centuries. The Mamluk deck consists of four suits: Coins, Cups, Swords, and Wands, a similar structure to the Minor Arcana (Minor Arcana) of today. Tarot may also be linked to ancient Chinese playing cards, such as dominoes and Mahjong, which were transported to Europe via the Silk Road, as well as cultural exchanges with traders and travelers in the Middle East and North Africa.
